He stalks forward and the camera pans to a front view of his face, dramatic music playing in the background. Shadow activates his air shoes and Sonic starts to run alongside him, whooping and hollering. Then he challenges Shadow to a race.

Shadow’s face softens and he nods. Sonic then steps back and gestures for Shadow to take the lead. Shadow raises an eyebrow, confused. “Why?”

“Well, something tells me I’m not the main character of this movie.”He winks at Shadow, who raises an eyebrow.

“You really know how to ruin a moment of reflection, hedgehog.”

“Sorry, I talk when I’m nervous. Cause…” Sonic gets serious, “that’s some really serious stuff, what you went through. But im here, if you need a friend to listen.”

Shadow blinks up at Sonic, who nods with a reassuring, warm smile.

Sonic is watching, engrossed. “Dude, that’s so dramatic. I feel like I’m watching a movie. Are you always this serious? No wait, you’ve been this serious, I just finally got to see a moment where it was actually so cool instead of slightly discomforting.”

Shadow approaches Sonic who cheers for him, asking him if he’s ok. Shadow pauses and says. “No. I had to annihilate an entire species, my species, and the one who created me. I thought I would die with them. But here I am. Alive.” He examines his hand. “Hmph. The ultimate life form…”
