So he thrives on division. Responding by getting good at their "lockstep" looks to me like getting co-opted. UNITY that incorporates diverse, intelligent vision and initiative is more robust. IMHO

You can't "force" a view on anyone, influence is different. Rejecting a whole class of vaguely defined people is a very slippery slope, it narrows the mind.

Taking over the party could be more effective than deciding the ship is sinking and abandoning it for... what? a shiny new party with no infrastructure? Attract independents waiting in the wings- maybe they won't register, but provide solidarity when it counts.
