On top of that, some of the most well-loved episodes have been ones that don't develop the season arc at all and when your season is only 8 episodes long, there's just not enough room for those episodes.

You’ve mentioned things like shoddy steel, bad welds, and now ‘tofu dregs,’ and it makes me feel like you’ve had a personal run-in with those issues. What projects or products gave you that experience?

Regarding the poverty: ironically, the World Bank. They put out a detailed, well-researched report in 2022 stating as such: openknowledge.worldbank.org/server/api/c...

Regarding medical devices, a report from Deloitte: www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/...

I won't excuse Xinjiang’s late-2022 forced-labor abuses. That being said, China lifted ~800 million out of extreme poverty in four decades. Sure, bargain-basement Temu or Shein goods are low-end—but that doesn’t apply universally. China’s medical-device industry, for example, is world-leading.

I hope you don’t take this as being condescending, because that’s not how I mean it and I think we agree on a lot more than we disagree: I think you need to take a closer look at your beliefs regarding China. I get being anti-authoritarian but some of what you're saying is swerving into Sinophobia.

I’ve looked into it and the US has put up massive regulatory hurdles that make it basically impossible for a consumer to import a BYD car.

US-made cars do the same thing, they just report to your insurance company instead of the government.

Just wait until you see all the cool Chinese EVs from BYD that are $20,000 cheaper while still blowing anything our automakers are doing out of the water. If Chinese automakers were allowed here in the US, Ford, GM, etc. would be cooked.
