Following the UCSB Bren School MEDS final projects… and the award has to go to the team whose govt dataset was disappeared from the White House website halfway thru their project, at which point they salvaged the codebase from a GitHub repo, rebuilt the web tool and relaunched it with new features

A glimmer of good news on the #EatonFire impacts in the mountains: Much of the riparian vegetation down in the canyons seems to have survived - esp in Upper Eaton. Erosion is going to be terrible though, and the canyon hydrology will be much flashier.

When is the best time to do a Grand Canyon rafting trip? July for the adrenaline-junkies (and heat tolerant), May for the cold-plunge lovers, October for the comfort maximizers, and September as a solid all-around consensus choice.
