is that a challenge? I know a guy who would be quite excited to do a rendition of this fellow 14 years later...

a slow gain
very relatable
multi-part sequence
of a German Shepherd dog
gaining weight while being a gamer?
Nope no idea why it did so well! A total mystery!
In all seriousness, you did a fantastic job with the diversity of angles and the gradual progression: the change is subtle but noticeable!

(They are the reason the elevator is stuck. They exceed the weight limit of the poor thing)
Ohh would you look at that? Suddenly, my agenda cleared up, and my only appointment is being pressed against a corner and a soft place!!

In a similar way as how we can recognize that in animals, the sentience level of a dolphin is greater than that of a clam or a jellyfish.
The alien plants would most likely have to have something like a central nervous system. Imo, it would be like comparing a living human and a brain dead human.

But even then, I think if given the chance, they could be convinced. Even if for them saving the life of another speices is "morally neutral".
If an sentient alien plant species came to Earth, based on what we know about sentience, I think it would be difficult to argue that plants have sentience.

It's a fair question, and personally, I think it would come down to 3 things: the level of cognition of the orcas, the level of empathy, and their ethics.
Maybe they are inherently focused on ensuring the well-being of their own species. In that case, sure, they would not care for other species.

Given enough sapience (and an adequate technological development), the moral tendency is to avoid unnecessary suffering.
"If I can spare a sentient being, why wouldn't I?"
And that can only be achieved by moving away from carnivory.

There is nothing that inherently makes an animal a herbivore or a carnivore. It is a spectrum and most animals fit in the middle, as opportunistic omnivores: they eat what they can to survive.
There are spiders that eat nectar, sharks that eat seaweed, wolves that eat berries, deer that eat eggs.

When you break it down, it's all a matter of biochemistry
Just like humans, veganism was unrealistic until we had the understanding of the macro/micro-molecules we need to survive. Likewise, if orcas could synthesize the compounds they need to survive, then they could be compelled to be vegan.

You can be well dressed and have other kinds of insulation! They are not mutually exclusive.
In fact, many of us very much prefer larger lads in lavish loungewear!!! Corpulent chaps in classy clothes if you would 😉

This is lovely!! I'm glad to hear that going vegan made that big of a change in your life!! I don't have IBS, but a friend of mine who does, sent me a message asking me about how easy and realistic it is to have a low FODMAP diet while also being vegan. Do you feel like it is restrictive? Any tips?
