Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. ~ Proverbs 3:3 NIV
I picked that up last week and am in love with it. Glad to see you're doing well, hadn't seen you stream in a few weeks

I've been having a blast with the gameplay. Put the discount money saved toward a $20 Onn controller from Walmart, since its macros really help with some of the side-quest grinds

If I may ask, were the first two times due to Celia and Lede? That's my favorite game of all time but I still vividly remember the first time I got stuck on that fight

I personally liked it a lot, but I can see how the gimmick of "the cat falls off the boat" could wear on some viewers.

I'm loving the game. The one thing I miss about the game's removal of Arceus' stylized turn-based mode is that there's no more "Agile"/"Strong" move modifications, which was something I also missed Violet not having after Arceus did such a good job with it.

That's what I'm hoping for since the backlash has been so strong. That being said, if this had been the original Delphox, I probably would have liked it a lot more. This design rules.

I haven't been on here in a while but I'm super glad to see you and yours are still doing well! :)

@railith.bsky.social When I was watching the trailer, I was thinking this generally looks good, but I'm hoping the terrain has at least as much deformation—e.g., craters that can be used as dynamic cover—as was previously the case. Also I still want DoW2/Company of Heroes' "unit hugs the wall" peek

It's a game-key card, not a true physical.

That reminds me of when Mortal Kombat X was new and I shaved like 10 gigs off the install size just by deleting the cutscene movies after completing the campaign and the arcade ladders.

- Metroid Prime 2 Remastered drops in August
- Donkey Kong 64 joins N64 online subscription in August
- Rare Replay coming to Switch 1 (and PC, for that matter)
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 Switch port since it wasn't on 3D All-Stars
- Switch desktop backgrounds
- Switch Streetpass/Spotpass/Swapnote

Same. I only log into BSky once every few days at most, so I came back to this thread and had zero idea of what's going on.

@briannathehugger.bsky.social There's an Animal Crossing shirt in here

Also, some of the AI's profane humor in 'Her' simply did not appeal to me at all, plus I get antsy whenever movies depict simplistic-looking video games (I used to want to go into video-game design and centered a lot of my higher education on that purpose and context).

Thank you for sharing! I think I would have been more sympathetic to 'Her' if I hadn't already seen 'Shame,' which was at times a duller movie but I think it had a much better message and portrayed its protagonist in a much more intentionally unsympathetic light.

Interesting! I had a tumultuous 2024 and briefly delivered food to make ends meet (things have thankfully improved substantially in 2025), and I always smiled wanly when I was delivering, like, one item, for which the delivery fee (straight into my pocket) cost more than the actual item did.

The tactile experience is something I think about a lot.

- Phone slam receiver, like you mentioned
- Using the numbers on old digital calculators to spell words, esp. silly ones
- Watching old tape decks run (one of my college professors brought this one up in our CS in Science Fiction course)
July 26, 2025 at 5:27 AM
That was my guess but for a different reason - I figured they'd go with The Regime or whatever it was called in places where the games couldn't use the actual name.
July 26, 2025 at 5:25 AM
One of my thin attempts at writing fiction, taking place in a grounded future, had a gimmick of where the power-armored protagonist was caught between wanting to 'replace' the need for her vigilantism with more stable social systems, where her company investors wanted more "heroes"—i.e., photo ops
July 26, 2025 at 5:21 AM
I think I only used those services a few times during emergencies, because usually the delivery fees were as much as the item and sometimes more than that.

This sounds like one of those films whose script I would not like but is otherwise greatly elevated by Joaquin Phoenix's performances (which was how I felt about Joker and Her).
July 26, 2025 at 5:09 AM
That would be a legit cool idea.

I'm hoping Thursday counts as "this weekend" since I'd love to see a trailer for this before Fantastic Four starts (esp. if the trailer is also in 4DX).
