I said exactly that 40yrs ago. I was at a bus-stop in Muswell Hill, in London. A homeless man asked people at the bus-stop for cash. I gave him some....& got such grief off the other people there - 'he'll only buy alcohol with it!' Well fine! It's now his money to spend as he likes. As we all do.
