We gotta remember that Trump mostly knows what Fox News tells him, so he probably expected Zohran to be openly slavering for the blood of the rich. Zohran himself said that's kind of an advantage sometimes, the press sets such wild expectations that when people talk to him they're blown away.

I really hope they're just a whiz, and not that they feel they must compensate for deficits.

I hope they don't experience having their internalized ableism compel them to put in more effort than they have space for to be seen as equal to others. I know a lot of us do, *especially in STEM*

I don't have anything special to say, and I'm trying not to project or be biased when it comes to my students. But, because of where my health is now, it's hitting me a little.

I haven't really heard this dynamic discussed in academia before, either. Not to say it hasn't been. Anyway. 4/6

But now I'm noticing (and it breaks my heart a little because I have a feeling I know where it comes from) how much *effort* they put into every single assignment. It's far beyond what the majority of other students do, and it's for every. little. thing.

Apparently I made an impression on them in their freshman year, so much so that they had me meet their mom and shared their story about some surgeries and recoveries. I'm so touched they felt seen by me.

That was emotional enough, as I sat in my wheelchair, a bit dazed from pain. 2/6

I do think the "sacrifice the weak" and anti-vax crowds wouldn't be *so* emboldened though. They'd definitely be seen as freaks more if the admin wasn't so proudly the same flavor of stupid.
