I recognize your point but I don't fully agree. Rational people won't choose fascism because the other candidate doesn't smile, or smiles too much, or whatever personality quirk is the news of the day. If they do, I would not hesitate to call that a fundamental problem.

You are 100% correct that something is fundamentally wrong when personality is anywhere near as important as the ideals and policies a candidate represents. I think (hope) more Americans will be realizing this in the next for years.

Obama was very likable. He made a great impression as someone you'd want to have a beer with.
