🧵 As we know in cognitive #psychology, you have to spend time engaging with the content in order for it to pass from shortterm and working memory into your longterm memory. Using generative #AI does not give you the opportunity to have that deep, engaging work.

No offense to the other journals, but I think Frontiers for Young Minds might be my favourite. I'm a Science Mentor and work with children to be science reviewers for these articles. Check ours out!

My middle child was thoughtful enough to collect this little flower on the walk home from school to share with me. It was so small and so pretty and made such an impact on my day.

What tiny thing made a positive impact on your day?

Linguistics could make language learning more relevant – and attractive – for school pupils.

As a trained linguist, I couldn't agree more! Linguistics can help bridge the gap between languages, essentially providing you with the hidden links underneath.

I would love to see what's being done to help the HE sector. This immigration white paper is not it. Certainly not when REF emphasises international research collaboration.
The immigration white paper won’t fix our public services it will break them.

In HE, cuts to graduate visas & new levies will destabilise a sector already on the edge.

This isn’t just bad policy. It’s an economic own goal.

Universities and social care depend on immigration. The UK government’s plans could be an economic own goal
Both sectors are already in crisis – and plans for more curbs on immigration will hit them hard.
