Det är också viktigt för politiker att ha en historisk medvetenhet om att läs- och skrivkriser inte är något nytt, utan en tankefigur som cirkulerat i åtminstone 100 år, både i Europa och USA. Oftast har det varit föräldrarnas, lärarnas eller den progressiva pedagogikens fel.
