The first one has some QoA issues but nothing that kills the experience for me but everything is just so pretty.

I played it wellllll after launch and it really was a clunky game but you can still see all of the heart (heh) that the game had.

As for skipping it I don’t think you would be able to understand a lot of what is happening if you never played the first one. So yeah at least cutscene watch.
