Listening to my Eurovision favorites playlist and I wonder if @careygly.bsky.social has ever heard Italy's 2015 entry, Grande Amore. Totally should have won that year!

OMFG this technique is absolute madness. "Don't read the word, just guess what it could be." How have I never heard of this?

Once again I think of revisiting the Ghost of the English Language in Kingdom of Loathing. "You have already proven yourself literate! Go forth, then, and avenge my death!"
I ❤️ Beyond Belief so much, PFT and Paget Brewster are always amazing.

It's always wild to me which things are allowed and which things are not. I never wore my WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE SHAREHOLDERS? shirt to work, because I knew somebody would run whining, crying, throwing up to HR about it.

But it's OK to wear hate-filled crap, don't you DARE say anything.
My mom is currently guiding clients for Medicare supplement plans and ACA renewals. Many plans are cutting benefits, a bunch of them are no longer offered. Massive price spikes.

Retirees don't have extra $$$ lying around for this. We're back to the pre-ACA days, which I suppose is the GOP goal.
I've been reposting everyone replying to this post with their own ACA (and sometimes employer!) price hikes. Feel free to add yours. There is some comfort in knowing you aren't alone and knowing we'll all be voting on this issue in a year.

Chuck Schumer should be chucked out. #chuckchuck
My ACA current plan is going from $385/mo to $821/mo.
I swear the ideal form factor for these bozos is a razor-thin piece of metal to cut the shit out of your fingers. Ive was always trying to make the MacBook thinner, too.

The Nexus 4 was the ideal phone. Or hell, the Sidekick 3. Where's the clamshell Mac of phones? They had it in them, once.
The one-two punch of Shax finally living his seasons-long dream of ejecting the warp core, followed directly by Mariner bringing in every single California-class ship to defend the Cerritos?

"The Stars at Night" gets me every time.

Still in my Lower Decks rewatch, and Peanut Hamper is just the WORST.

Still think it's a great name, but that is one selfish exocomp!
Busy day. Paid the property taxes, mailed off a package, yelled at my Senators, picked up heavy things and put them back down again.

Oregon’s Senate delegation is mostly good but they need to advocate for better leadership. Not getting it done, as my friend Busta used to say.
The bots writing a commercial for Mighty Jack dog food, one of the great sketches.

"I'm Mighty Jack, and I make my own gravy!"
The only thing that can turn my mood around this evening is a little #MST3K. Tonight on the Forever-a-Thon: MIGHTY JACK!

"Wait a minute! Button... button... I'VE got the button!"

Flexible Spending Accounts are hot garbage and anyone who suggests them as a solution to anything should be slapped immediately.

"Guess how much care you need! Hope you got it right! The insurance company everything left at the end of the year!" Just raking in profit, as if they needed more.
Dear @schumer.senate.gov, this is who you're surrendering to. NOBODY likes him. Stop this capitulation now.
Trump and Hegseth booed mercilessly for 2 minutes straight tonight by Washington Commanders fans.
I will always wonder, "What if..." with the pilot of GLOBAL FREQUENCY that @johnrogers.bsky.social helmed.

Love to spend part of my weekend frantically calling my Senators to get them to stop their leaders from doing stupid shit.
They also buried a lot of their children, who died of diseases we can prevent now!

I demand all of these ghouls walk through an older cemetery and see how many kids never made it to their teens.
Librarians: rockin' like Dokken since 1887.
I worked at a university library during the W administration. Let me tell you: Few professions take user safety and security with the seriousness and discipline that librarians do.

Also fostered a lifelong hatred of Elsevier, as every year they'd jack up prices and we'd have to decide what to cut.
Now I’m picturing a government made up entirely of librarians and I very much wish someone would write that book.
Absolute malpractice on Schumer's part.

been doing some light reading about the aftermath of the korean dictatorship and I think it's really important that we repeat this to ourselves, to our friends, to our neighbors, to our politicians
Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like “bet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion
OK one more and then maybe I should think about dinner.
