That's lovely to hear! I'm guessing, though, that even through my second-rate version you're picking up on the strength of the poem itself. Which was so great that, years after reading it, I found myself looking it up during the first Trump administration (which is when I did this translation).

It's sort of my own translation, though with help. I did it years ago, so I'm not sure, but I think I drew on a combination of Google translate, the anglo-saxons.net line-by-line translation (link below) and what I remember from my graduate Old English courses.

Not bought, but checked out. But I'd go with The Wolves of Willoughby Chase, by Joan Aiken (some of her short stories are incredible). Also: Charmed Life, by Diana Wynne Jones.
