“Oscar Micheaux: The Superhero of Black Filmmaking” is a fascinating docu. on the filmmaker, whose “Within Our Gates” was a response to the distorted image of Black Americans in “The Birth of a Nation.” His “Body and Soul” was chosen by the Lib. of Congress for inclusion to the Nat’l Film Registry.

The stop-motion holiday special “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” premiered on the the CBS television network 60 years ago today and has aired without fail, every holiday season.
Its lesson is still relevant - even if an individual is considered a 'misfit' by others, they have value.
