A short description of my character Boris to associate with the lineup above. It reads: Colin was a teenage runaway who ended up drowning and being revived by a nature spirit, though his new life would be of the persona Boris, who was everything Colin wasn't - a distrusting and barbaric druid, who used his corvid power for the art of deceit and murder. Though the man seems a lost cause, unbothered, lying and cold, his one weak spot is: that he remains human. Beneath the iron jacket is deep, tyrannical devotion towards his mercenary mentor who's only desire left in life is death. As Boris becomes older, this noxious relation starts to consume him, making him increasingly bitter and unavailable towards the outward masquerade he had built outside of his profession - and damning cracks in the facade starts to form. A short description of my character Mu to associate with the lineup above. It reads: Mu has always been in a battle of what he wants and what he thinks he should want, finding the act of self-acceptance too hard, rather diverting his attention and care onto others - even if it is never returned. A heartshattering break-up caused him to distrust his judgement so much, he rushes to settle in a cookie-cutter manner to avoid further hurt. It is a path that he already knows is gravely wrong, but in his cowardice and people-pleasing tendencies, he continuously denies his nature until he inevitably cracks. (Note: this character does not actually have wings though I like the visual of its contradictory: A snake with wings.) A short description of my character Cassidy to associate with the lineup above. It reads: Cassidy inhabits the spirit of her deceased little brother, gaining her access to an inbetween world known as 'The Mire' where lost souls roam, desperate to be freed. As she is the only living creature with this ability, she has taken on the responsibility of looking for a way to cleanse The Mire, in the meantime taking on the abilities and traits of various different ghosts and ghouls she meets along the way. An ancient tome has been found that includes various rituals and spells from The Mire that can be used more reliably as spirits tend to be michievious.

A short description of my character Rasha to associate with the lineup above. It reads: Rasha is a powerful mutant, never quite knowing how to control his capabilites - but always getting by rather smoothly due to social connections and a natural charm. Going through a severe break-up turned everything on its head - sending shockwaves both through his ability to upkeep current relations, and his ability to create new ones, making him lonely, for the very first time in his life. On the contrary, he has slowly learned to use his mighty Powers efficiently, though it takes a heavy toll on his body, hence why he is sometimes forced to use a cane. For change and distraction, he has been recruited at a secret military base in an unspecified location to train and be utilized as a biological weapon in warfare. A short description of my character Aka to associate with the lineup above. It reads: Aka has always been deeply haunted by the memories detailing the experiments her and her brother were subject to as children, causing their mutation. This trauma brought with it severe social anxiety, as well as a reliance on drugs to get by. Being too stubborn and bitter for consistent help, including a growing dependence and skill in video game development, Aka locks herself away, entering drug-induced trances wherein she is a pink, frilly warrior, fighting through a whimsical fantasy world of her own making. The further she delves into this world and uses it as an escape, the more it twists into what she intended to flee from in the first place. The final objective in every haze is, always, to save her little brother from their father's torture. (Note: this is what she looks like in her trances, not in actuality.) A short description of my character Aiden to associate with the lineup above. It reads: Aiden craved a fresh start after being a headline spectacle in his hometown for years, being involved in an accident that left him with a head injury and a speech impediment. This has ultimately been the right choice for him, as he only seems to flourish further where he'd replanted - adoring his cat, Mango, first and foremost. (Nothing has changed here.) A short description of my character Park to associate with the lineup above. It reads: Park, once a hormonal teenager, was assaulted and left in the woods, leaving her open to the overtaking of a nefarious nature spirit, intending to use her body as a host. Since then, she has frozen in time, remaining a 16 year old girl forever, always as curious about the world as she is infuriated with it. She never truly knows who she is, except a slave to cruel magic that lends her unimagineable power as a druid of the forest. (Nothing has changed here except I've embraced her unibrow)

I mean to do these yearly, but the last one was from 2022 - so this was loong overdue.
I'm so excited to show you all their updated looks + give some insight to how their stories have progressed the last 3-4 years.
A lineup of my original characters. From left to right: Rasha: A slender figure with olive skin and long white hair, wearing punk-ish clothes. His eyes are pure black, and he holds out one hand summoning a black, slinky substance, while his other hand supports him with a cane. Aka: A chubby woman with extremely long white hair that is decorated with buttons carrying eye motifs, all the way to her ankles. Her olive-toned body sports a pastel corset with mismatching stockings, and a large ruff around her neck. She carries an enormous sword behind her, looking like a boxcutter. Aiden: A muscular individual wearing a blue shirt, khakis and birkenstocks. His hair is almost as pale as his skin, and whatever skin you can see is covered in freckles. His adoring eyes point downward to a pleased orange cat in his arms. Park: A person of average build, with peachy skin and a jet black bob. She sports colorful clothes, and plant-like tendrils spawn around her feet which she uses to lean on. These also sprout from her forehead, curling back like antlers. Her eyes are an eerie yellow. Boris: An extremely gaunt character with peachy skin and long, naturally black hair that is starting to grey. He wears a red suit adorned in black straps, and carries a bloody samurai sword. Crows fly to his shoulders, and his eyes glow an eerie yellow. Mu: A person of stocky build, peachy skin and many tattoos. He wears street style clothes in olive colors, and his short black hair has a bleached, blonde tuft in it. On his back are large, white wings. Cassidy: A skinny, dark-skinned figure in gothic, frilly attire. She carries an old book in her hands as she narrowly dodges several ghosts floating around her. Her big hair is put up in pigtails, and each textured dread is a different shade of purple and blue. She wears trad goth makeup.

he's much MUCH more mean and broken in this au and his backstory makes me want to jump off a cliff :)
reference illustration of my character boris velasco, but in an alternate universe where he is a half-elf druid, in a high position of an evil religion (Bane) His hair is long and black with graying moneypieces. His eyes and forehead has been tattooed a deep red in torture branding. He wears long black boots, a dead green colored jacket with mossy leather accessories. His short ears are elongated with black feathers, and black feathers drop from a red cape over his left shoulder. The symbol of Bane is evident on his chest as a giant silver brooch with a ruby gem. if youre curious about his backstory, he essentially tries to escape the religion he was born into when he was younger, thinks he is succesful for a few years, until he is caught, tortured and brainwashed and everything he ever loved gets burned to the ground in the name of discipline. so now he wants everything to die.

Today marks 10 years since I made my original character, Boris.
He is by far the most ruthless of all my ocs, yet his story of involuntary rebirth and the weight of loneliness have resonated with me and made him an admitted favorite of mine for a while.

s'funny how his character started out super stoic and masculine... and while he still stays true to that to some degree - i just adore how he's become more and more comfortable with being feminine and dainty, loving it even.
