yeah, lutri probably wouldve been good, except i dont think anyone pulled him. i mightve been able to pull off gyruda, except there was a 1 mana removal i wanted to run, before i realized it was way worse than i initially thought when i bothered reading the card properly

amusingly, was playing ikoria sealed this week (game store had some prerelease kits sitting around), and no one actually played with a companion. but yeah, that was just a complete mistake of a mechanic

also similar to outlaw, there's the older party mechanic. tbh anything that makes you batch, or track multiple creature types can get very annoying very quickly, especially if you play with older cards which almost always have different creature types now than whats actually printed on the card

"committing a crime", also from OTJ, is easier to track, but can feel arbitrary at times (group hug stuff counts as committing a crime but non-targeted removal and combat dont). initiative's big issue isnt the cheat sheet, but that its a commander design thats insanely broken in constructed
