taking those away would be so detrimental to so many strides made in queer healthcare since the 80s and 90s

sexual health clinics don’t just screen for STIs and hand out Prep and Doxy, they also manage medications for patients living with HIV and connect patients to resources for gender affirming healthcare including mental health, they also collect data to understand these communities needs better

i could always go to my PCP and it would be more expensive but my Prep could be managed, but for so many queer people defunding and devaluing these programs could be disastrous

these sorts of initiatives coupled with the continued rising cost of all foods generally is going to make food access inequality so much worse and will lead to even worse health outcomes for already at risk populations

that being said 1) there isn’t really consensus in the literature regarding what qualifies as a UPF and 2) if you make moves to restrict UPF but do nothing to fix systemic inequalities that lead to people being reliant on them in the first place a significant number of people will
simply starve

so any advice on science communication skills are appreciated lol

also why are these folks always brand ambassadors? is it because it’s more about making money than it is applying evidence based therapies (but like really evidenced based therapies, not first trial mouse models or case studies where n=1) to patient care?

i don’t want to express my grievances with integrative and functional folks in too public of a space, but all i’m saying is it should be concerning how often that community shakes hands with conspiracies and pseudoscience to anyone who took their education in nutrition science seriously

it’s all personal choice and no regulations until people start using raw milk in place of formula or touting it as a panacea and promoting it to immunocompromised populations
