That this question is posed by corporate media is the answer. Bloated corporations beholden to multi-millionaire board members and shareholders keeps wealth at the top. There is no excuse for poverty anywhere on Earth.

People fleeing war, climate disasters, economic collapse — I’ve always known kindness crosses more borders than any law. Houses and crops and money matter, but mercy matters more.

That story about the court giving the president power to fire agency leaders at will — I’ve seen too many times how that starts as “efficiency” and ends as “favor to the loudest.” Folks meant to keep things honest shouldn’t be tossed aside when others get louder.
