Dude! My teenager just addressed me as "Bro", and I have no idea how I should feel about that. I mean does that mean she's addressing you like a friend or is it a diss?

Tomorrow I go back into the fray (I'm a federal employee). I really do love my job and my coworkers and I am wondering if I can just ignore my email for a day until I can build up the courage to see the next round of BS coming from OPM....

I know the world is falling apart around us... And somehow I still feel like I'm living my best life. Today I saw an art exhibit with two of my besties. I have a fire in the fireplace and I'm working on a fabulous project. Family is healthy and I get to help people during the week.

I keep meaning to post a thing about how I am going to present at our big industry conference in March, I am excited... Then today I was asked to help with a second presentation. And I am remembering This is how it starts, You take one small step, and the next thing you know you are all in.

Today I got out the sewing machines and I'm making myself a dress for Dickens Fair next weekend... I haven't had the time or energy for costuming in several years, so you can imagine how good it feels.

It is finally sweater weather and I am here for it!

I just made appointments to have the Kids passports renewed. Max and I are renewing ours online... I am pretty sure everything will be okay, but this is a good thing that I can control, so lets do that.

Last night we saw Sweet Honey in the Rock at SF jazz. (If you don't know who they are look them up. They are amazing). And I realized I am scared to have hope.

When I started my new Job, I made a secret ultimate career goal of taking down (and rebuilding/replacing) the bullshit Department of Labor, Workers Comp system for federal workers. Now I am just crossing my fingers that the Department of Labor still exists in the future.

The parking situation here at SFVA can sometimes be a big cutthroat. (For employees, at least. The veterans have their own garage with their own valet parking). Some days I get a really kick-ass parking spot. Today was not one of those days.
