After the noise of the season… one for me 🎁

Going through multiple layers of veg tan gave me blisters and I had to use pliers to pull the needle through at times, but very happy with the final result. My friend requested a ‘grown up wallet’ that would last him years.

Where is everyone working at their leathercraft?

I’m in the Australian Subtropics. It certainly has its challenges keeping leather clean, dry but not too dry, and the humidity makes tools very unhappy.

I’m always open to suggestions on storage, cleaning, etc.
I’m in an open shed. Challenging.

The sound of the leather under the knife calms me. I can work for hours, joyfully, mindfully. It’s like having my own ASMR channel plugged directly into my brain.
The view when taking a break helps me stay peaceful.
