I’ve been meaning to ask: Do you have any baking cookbook recommendations for someone getting into baking? My teen daughter was inspired by the galette you posted here, made an incredible version, and she has gone on to start baking more and more.

Same. This took me back! I laugh about it now but good lord, we didn’t know how grim it was.

Dude, it’s not the snakes. The snakes were so cheap. But I’m kinda ashamed to admit how deep I got (no pun intended) into this pit thing before I heard of the Snakes and Guinea Pigs model of consumer extraction.

I am so sad for these young soldiers and their families, angry they were there in the first place, and furious their sacrifice is depicted-so far-along pictures of the most selfish, values-free scumbags in the country which was honored by their service.
