After spreading racist disinformation about Sadiq Khan last week, the Conservative party's leader on the London Assembly is now spreading a fake story that an Irish teacher has been sentenced to life in prison for using the wrong pronouns.

The teacher was actually sentenced for contempt of court

Imagine being turned away from a bathroom, hospital, or cinema for “not looking female enough”. The leaked EHRC guidance could do just that. Along with my Lib Dem colleagues, I’ve written to the Minister calling for new, inclusive, practical guidance that protects everyone’s rights.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

British soldiers murdered 13 British citizens on the streets of a British city in 1972 and nobody has ever been held accountable.
"Thirteen people were shot dead on Bloody Sunday in January 1972 at a civil rights demonstration in the Bogside area of Derry.

A public inquiry, which concluded in 2010, found that none of the people who were killed posed any threat to the army."

If I were the leader of the opposition a year after an election, facing an unpopular government, I would simply focus my energy on criticising the current government's policy record rather than constantly bemoaning the last fifteen years of policymaking, in which I was intimately involved.

Transphobia is a unique sort of bigotry that just absolutely cooks the online brain. Holding it nearly always results in an inability to ever admit you’re wrong about anything and exponentially increases the likelihood of believing in a cascade of ever dumber conspiracies and fascist ideology

I feel like it's hard to get across to my English pals that if the Taoiseach **made a point of insisting to the press** that they put Irish flags all over their house, and made sure to 'always' sit by one in their office, then they would immediately, and forever, be tainted as a massive weird freak.
NEW: Keir Starmer has said he hangs the English flag in his home and 'always sits front of a Union Jack'

He told the BBC: 'I'm very encouraging of flags. I think they're patriotic and a great symbol of our nation.'

I know Labour has precendent for governing like this in the 1960s but really who had the way Starmer is governing actually in mind when they voted Labour in 2024. One of the reasons this is so depressing is nobody wanted this, we rejected it in 2024, and got it anyway

@samcoatessky.bsky.social hi Sam, this morning you stated “…the main opposition parties, the Cons and Reform UK…”

Unless I missed 67 Parliamentary by-elections since July, the Lib Dems are very much the main opposition party with the Cons, not Reform.

Do we have to keep doing this?

Just for perspective, a few weeks ago roughly 100,000 turned up for the London Trans+ Pride march. By contrast fewer than 3,000 ACROSS THE WHOLE COUNTRY, have turned up to anti-asylum "protests". Yet we are meant to take the latter as "the voice of the people" and the former as "the minority".

Starmer really is a moral vacuum. Utterly devoid of any principles.

Palestinians either deserve statehood, or they don’t. Whether Israel continues to murder them by starvation or not is totally irrelevant to their claim on statehood

Recognition of the state of Palestine should not be used as a bargaining chip. It should have happened months ago.

We also need far greater action to stop the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, including fully ceasing arms sales and implementing sanctions against the Israeli cabinet.

Nigel Farage and his Reform MPs just voted to let foreign governments buy up our British newspapers.

I guess it’s hardly a surprise since these fake patriots outsource all their policies to Trump’s White House and Putin’s Kremlin.
