Australian COVID-19 weekly stats update:

The risk estimate rose sharply last week to 1.3% “Currently Infectious”, or 1-in-80. It has passed the peak from early January, during the XEC wave.

That implies a 31% chance that someone is infectious in a group of 30.

These findings suggest that structural alterations in the hippocampus may contribute to overlapping symptoms, such as cognitive problems in long COVID & ME/CFS patients’

This type of cognitive impairment is so badly underestimated.

I lost the ability to read for months and to communicate for years. It was like juggling with 50 balls. Impossible.

I lost almost all income and have nothing in life because of it.

We need answers ASAP.

A reminder that Los Angeles had its hottest summer in history last year. Southern California has received just 2% of "normal" rainfall during the current "rainy" season.

These fires are a direct result of a warming & drying atmosphere caused by burning fossil fuels.

We are in a climate emergency.

#EpiSky ? I love this question. Beautiful studies in epi? What even makes a beautiful study in epi? Exceptional, unexpected data? Clean identification? Rich theoretical relevance? Or just straight up health impact?
🧪 In your field, tell me about an experiment or empirical paper broadly construed you find beautiful!
