First viewing of “Love Actually” this holiday season; there will be many more. I need a cleansing cry today and this film fits the bill.

Today is Mommy's 92nd birthday! Throughout my life, she was my champion, a Sicilian spitfire with a big heart. She was the very best Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. Happy Birthday, Mommy! I love you and miss you. But, it comforts me to know that she and Daddy are together again.❤️

My Daddy passed away today at 4:09pm CST at the age of 92. I think it’s serendipitous that tomorrow is my dear departed Mama’s 92nd birthday. Today will forever be a Thanksgiving I won’t forget.

Today, the day before Thanksgiving, as I watch my father in his final days, the poem is comforting.

Exactly when did good manners and gracious behavior become passé? I’m far from perfect. I have moments when I’m grumpy and out of sorts. But, I do try very hard to be pleasant and warm, no matter what type of attitude is thrown my way. I sometimes wonder why I try when so many do not. 😢

62 years ago, today. For those of us who were children, November 22, 1963, is the day that stole our innocence. I remember it as though it were yesterday.

Let’s not canonize Marjorie Taylor Greene just yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if she seeking a senatorial position.

The Godfather trilogy had been playing frequently on cable. I’ve seen all three more times than I can remember. Godfather I and II, especially, are true masterpieces of creative filmmaking. Kudos to Francis Ford Coppola! The scores are hauntingly beautiful and the casting superb.

This is me at 15. A 15-year-old is a minor. In the US, a 15-year-old cannot legally consent to sex with an adult. Megyn Kelly reframing Epstein’s and Trumps’s behavior as no big deal because some of the girls were 15 and not 8 is an abomination.

This is the third time this year I’ve been to the ER for my Dad. Let me say that healthcare in this country, particularly for the elderly, is ghastly. This is going to be a long night.

Neil Percival Young, born this day in 1945, is one of rock's most prolific songwriters. His guitar work, deeply personal lyrics, and tenor voice define his career and helped mold my love of classic rock. Happy Birthday, Neil! You are one of the best.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below. ~ John McCrae

I think this meme is about highly sensitive people (like me). These things can easily exhaust someone with heightened sensitivities and empathic abilities. There’s nothing wrong with us. We are sensing more data from our environment and from people and we need a break from it regularly.

A good friend of mine posted this on his Facebook page. It reminds me why I love Dorothy Parker. She nails it every single time.

Birthday wishes to my favorite poet, Anne Sexton. She left her mark on the literary world in the short time she inhabited this Earth. I think my favorite poem is "Her Kind." Powerful images.

Watching “All The President’s Men” for about the 100th time. This film continues to be brilliant in all respects.

Please donate food to your local food bank. If the government makes good on its promise to cut SNAP benefits, there will be thousands of people who will go hungry.

Now, this is a "Real Housewives" program I would watch. I aspire to be the woman sitting second from the right. Her smile indicates she's been hitting the vino and is feeling no pain.

Dearest Daughters,

If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes. Only then would you realize how special you are to me. Love, Momma
