Trump never looks so happy as when he is pleasing Putin. Same grin as when he invited the Russians to the Oval Office after firing Comey. Despicable.

Here's what it looked like when L pod passed Pt. Robinson yesterday. This is the narrowest part of Puget Sound, with a steep drop-off, and the whales come so close to shore!
There are 33 orcas in L pod including 96-yr-old L25 (Ocean Sun). Thanks to Rebecca Benson for sharing her video with us. 🦑

The shore was lined with people watching. We passed out binoculars and made sure everyone could see.

Moments like these keep me going, and remind me what's at stake, if agencies like NOAA go away. We have so much world to fight for. (Photos by Robin Sinner) 4/

The rain is back, and so are the whales. The southern resident orcas return to central Puget Sound each fall and winter, following chum salmon runs. This year, there are more salmon than anyone expected, and the orcas have been here nonstop. Last week we got to the shore just in time to see them. 1/
