The Texas Historical Commission Removed Books on Slavery From Plantation Gift Shops
An agency spokesperson claimed that the move had nothing to do with politics. Internal emails show otherwise.

"Up to 1.8 million Gazans — around 80 percent of the population — have been forced to leave their homes since Israel began its bombardment in response to Hamas’s attack on Oct. 7. That number is expected to rise after Israel issued a new evacuation order on Saturday for areas in the south."
What the Scale of Displacement in Gaza Looks Like
Eighty percent of Gazans are displaced from their homes as Israel orders more evacuations. See where thousands have been sheltering amid the war’s destruction.

This is openly genocidal rhetoric.

Anyone in denial of it at this point… knowing who his other ministers are, what they’ve said about Palestinians, the overall rhetoric around the war… is going out of their way to ignore what’s happening.

No more! We are witnessing a horror.

There are mobs of armed settlers rampaging around the West Bank brazenly stealing from Palestinians and forcing them to flee their homes, and we're here being tone-policed about how we talk about it.

@AJEnglish: The 20-truck convoy that arrived in Gaza on Saturday included only one day's worth of water for 22,000 people, far from enough to meet the besieged enclave's needs, officials have said.

Found a song that’s at once very sad and also very catchy to remember my friends who left us to soon. Unusual niche to fill perhaps, but here I share:

Can’t lose sight of which side created the conditions for conflict (see Nakba to present) while undermining a peace process for decades, which side is currently killing enormous numbers of civilians intentionally, and which side holds the power to end the conflict. It’s pretty clear

A formative experience for me was traveling to Guatemala to do service work when I was younger. When I got home, I started reading about Guatemala’s history & learned about the unspeakable atrocities the US perpetrated there during the Cold War. It was disillusioning and reshaped me politically.

Cops in Minnesota are running a straight-up mafia protection racket targeting immigrant-owned businesses
Small business owners in Minneapolis say the city forced them to hire off-duty MPD officers for security gigs. Some were led to believe MPD wouldn't respond to their calls if they refused. The officers often insisted on cash payment.

The biggest lie being spread about the war is that it has anything to do with saving the hostages.

The Israeli government is sacrificing the safety of the hostages specifically in order to wage the war.

Any other framing is a dishonest or ignorant way of justifying the war.

it's cool how Netanyahu is on record saying they have to prop up Hamas to undermine Fatah, and Hamas's funding comes mostly from gulf oil monarchies, and the American press looks at this situation and decides the ultimate responsibility for Hamas's terrorism lies with American College Students
