. @zackpolanski.bsky.social is the voice we need in politics right now.

Scapegoating immigrants for years of failed governance is a convenient untruth peddled by our media and those with power and financial influence on elected officials

We can do and demand better.

Unless the government introduces PR, there will be a far right government in power in 2029. And like the compliant liberals they always were, the Labour party are building the administrative tools to help those fascists round you and your friends up for deportation. Frightening.

im not into reinventing the wheel.

especially when there’s a perfectly good wheel that’s just had rocket boosters put on it by @zackpolanski.bsky.social
I was in parliament the day Labour MPs tried to oust JC. I saw how he looked & felt gutted for him. I saw Dan Hodges in the bar 😡& burned with rage. But that rage just isn’t a good foundation, & building a new party is hard. The planet is burning, the far right are rising. It’s time to move on.

We are in the fight of our lives. This "Boriswave" they talk about, they are people. Our friends and colleagues. We have to stand up for them and work to stop Reform from ever winning an election.

Britain is a product of millenia of immigration. It has made us who we are. Quite why Starmer felt the need to set-up such an open goal with his outrageous choice of language, I'll never know. Regardless, Polanski knocks the ball into the back of the net with the force of righteous indignation.

Wow, look at this: the carbon intensity of UK electricity is currently only 32g/kWh and 86.5% of our electricity right now is coming from renewables.

Come on world, this IS possible!
And it will only get better (meaning: cleaner, healthier, less intrusive) 🎉

The number 1 priority of UK politics now is to defeat Fascism and Reform.

And with the Labour Party crumbling and set to lose millions of votes, we need a strong Green Party to ensure those votes don't go to Reform.

The best path forward is to empower developers to write HTML and CSS in the editor of their choosing. Any abstraction that hampers that (whether it’s a web site builder or ✨Tailwind✨) has (in my experience) inhibited productivity and increased long-term maintenance costs.
The most disappointing thing about Figma sites is that they fell into the same trap as almost every other website builder.

They assumed (arrogantly) that HTML and CSS are over engineered and that they can make it much simpler.

They are not alone. So many tools before them has done the same.

The government should not be trying to profit from visa fees.
The issue lies in the profit-driven mindset materialised in visa fees and a utilitarian view of who "deserves" to be here—as if immigration is a privilege people must desperately earn, rather than a basic human right. The irony is stark, especially coming from a country founded on colonial expansion
