Well Tom, for what it's worth, I caught a Clifden up there (Aberfoyle) in 2023 (or was it 2022). That was late in September though. Also trapped a few species I hadn't seen before, but again - just that significant bit earlier in the season. PS I never pass up an opportunity to mention the Clifden.

Saw two in my parent's garden in Northants over the weekend. Never yet seen a wintering one here. Probably too cold and perhaps wet for them.

😁 Funny you should mention that. A dog-walking couple I often meet on my morning walks said much the same and what a great little reserve it could make with a bit (probably a lot given that it dries out and is dead in the summer) of work.
