This year, let’s challenge ourselves to go beyond awareness. Invest in prevention, hold perpetrators accountable, and encourage men to become allies in dismantling these harmful cycles.

Progress is possible: countries with strong domestic violence laws see lower rates of intimate partner violence. But gaps persist—less than 40% of survivors seek help, often due to stigma or inadequate support structures.

It’s alarming that only 1 in 10 global prevention programs directly target men and boys. The majority of violence stems from ingrained societal norms that glorify control and aggression. Change starts with men acknowledging their role and actively rejecting toxic behaviors and ideologies.

Globally, nearly 1 in 3 women have faced physical or sexual violence, most often by intimate partners. This violence is predominantly perpetrated by men, making them critical to prevention efforts.
