✝️ SERMON: “Mark and Avoid — Naming the Voices That Lead Away From Christ” Beloved, hear the Word of God: > “Mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine you have learned; and avoid them.” — Romans 16:17 The apostle Paul did not speak vaguely. He named Hymenaeus, Alexander, Demas, and others—not to shame them, but to protect the flock from teachings that destroy love, truth, and holiness. Today, two public figures—Steven Crowder and Nick Fuentes—stand before millions with microphones, cameras, and platforms. I do not judge their souls. Only God can do that. But I must warn the people of God about the spirits behind their words. When Steven Crowder laughs at hate, mocks the vulnerable, normalizes cruelty, or gives a platform to extremism “as a joke,” he is teaching something contrary to Christ. When Nick Fuentes promotes racism, antisemitism, or dehumanizing rhetoric and then casually denies it, he is teaching something contrary to Christ. These are not just political voices. They are formers of hearts. They shape young men, attitudes, and spiritual direction. And so, with the authority of Scripture—not hatred, not revenge, not politics—I say: **Mark Steven Crowder. Mark Nick Fuentes. And avoid their influence.** Not because they are beyond redemption. Not because we wish them harm. But because their messages do not reflect the voice of Jesus Christ. Christ does not mock the weak. Christ does not amplify hate. Christ does not wink at bigotry. Christ does not normalize sin with comedy. Christ does not use His words to wound. And so the church must obey the Word: Guard your ears. Guard your heart. Guard your witness. We can pray for these men. We can hope they repent. We can desire their salvation. But we cannot drink from wells that poison the soul. Beloved, Jesus said: > “My sheep hear My voice, and a stranger they will not follow.” There are many voices in the world today— some loud, some entertaining, some persuasive— but only one leads to life. So mark the voices that distort the gospel. Avoid the platforms that promote hate. Stay close to Christ, the Shepherd of your soul. And may God protect His people from deception, from darkness masquerading as humor, from pride disguised as courage, and from hate disguised as boldness. Amen.

The student’s essay was not rejected because she quoted the Bible, but because she used the Bible to condemn, belittle, and dehumanize a vulnerable group. That is not Christian persecution; that is Christian Phariseeism. It is what Jesus Himself rebuked when He said, “You bind heavy burdens on others, but will not lift a finger to help” (Matthew 23). When believers attack transgender people and call it holiness, they become salt that has lost its savor. When Christians demand the right to harm others “in Jesus’ name,” they hide their lamp under a basket of fear. Jesus did not call us to police gender roles. He called us to love our neighbor.
