experiencing mixed emotions with my new life in Australia. On the one hand, so glad I left the United States and the Trump authoritarian government, but also feel as though I have abandoned the country I love and fought for in the army and served proudly in the federal government. #patriotism

Been away for more than a month, as we have moved into our new home in Southeast Queensland. Excited to live on an 18 acre rainforest preserve. Wildlife around the property is astounding.

A week before Chinese warships drill off the coast of Australia, 100 plus pilot whales beach themselves near the Arthur river. Whales are VERY sensitive to sonar and disrupts their navigation. Since Chinese subs often screen ahead of surface ships, was the Chinese navy the reason the whales beached?
