I may just be being sarcastic.
Well put.

My point is why then does ANY transit get built that goes at a piss poor 13KM hour? Its like transit planners have never talked to a transit user. Speed is important. Imagine that. : )

It seems hard to believe but speed is probably the number 1 thing users want.

I dont agree with everything you write. But as I have said before you write in good faith. A lot of left and right writers dont. I have always felt that reading opinions that you may not agree with is healthy and sometimes forces you to admit your team may be wrong.

He doesnt need to. Trade winds are blowing against trump. Everybody knows that.

Or speeds; The 13KPH line.
December 5, 2025 at 2:51 PM
Another point is that LRT lines have become the "budget" version of transit and we need political courage to say build them better, or build something higher order. Personally I find light rail in Toronto moves really slowly regardless of intersections.

We just spent a lot of money for transit on Finch that is really really slow.On a road that car drivers consider pretty fast. Apparently now more than twice as fast as LRT.

Very Cool.

Fast and efficient are not the same thing. Feels like a bit of an ass kissing article. Again by the NYT.

Always thought he was over rated and mostly appealed to a small group.
December 2, 2025 at 9:50 PM
I just checked and its over an hour by transit and 19 mins by car. Even factoring in the need to stop to pickup people, we seem unable to build transit that is even remotely as fast as a car (or bicycle).

There is no story here. I guess there was nothing for the daily Sherman story.
