It rocks. It's been so fun catching up on horror pulps and getting back into regular reading for pleasure

It's such a fun read, it's like those Dinosaurs Attack cards but in the form of a well-paced novel.

yeah I think that's the kind of thing that really puts me off and it's sad and worrying to see very young folks participating in fandom around it!

Yeah, I get that. And for context, someone close to me is a csa survivor and had also spent time in a cult, so it's def a topic I take seriously. The whole deal w/ Youcis is darkly fascinating but I also still see very loving fan tributes to the whole cartoon and I'm like, ah. lol

I think the cartoons occupy a particular time and place when it was really shocking and kind of refreshing to see someone making work about experiencing childhood sexual abuse, but also now you can see a lot of art about it from a variety of perspectives
