LEAVITT: "Tariffs are a tax hike on foreign countries. Tariffs are a tax cut for the American people."

AP REPORTER: "Have you ever paid a tariff? Because I have. They don't get charged on foreign companies, they get charged on the importers."

I don't have the words to describe this. The people of the United States have had to topple a statue of a king in NYC before. We can do it again. 😡
(For context, this is a photo that is on the official WH Facebook page, celebrating Trump's rescinding NYC's congestion pricing.)

Musk maintains that the DOGE website is their answer to the calls for transparency in the process. They also post on Twitter under the DOGE handle. But guess what all this lacks? Content. The Receipts tab that I have shown here? It has had ‘content coming’ labels for weeks.

For some reason, this has been one of the hardest of these missives to write. Then, I had a meeting with my therapist that teased out the issue. I’m too close to this one. Given what I studied, it’s not a surprise that I have a lot of US Government employees as friends.

"The president acknowledged that such extensive tariffs could cause Americans “some temporary short-term disruption,” but added: “People will understand that."
No. They won't. Because people don't take time to understand anything anymore. I hope someone throws an egg at him European style.
