Put me in, coach.

That’s a concern to be sure, but he should still provide good defence for several more seasons, and his offensive profile is just too good to overlook.

We set a record in Simcoe West with 21 snow days last year. Looks like the bus cancellations kick off tomorrow.

For those not alive in 1987, the whole last week for the Blue Jays was as gut-wrenching as last night. They lost their last 7 to lose the pennant. Every day, I woke up thinking, “they’ll win tonight.”
And they didn’t. That was torturous.

I’ve let Jays management know that I’m ready (front row centre) if they need me tonight.

Cooke later became famous for his ownership of the former Washington Redskins. This bio I came across gives a great picture of what Toronto in the 30s, 40s, and 50s was like. /end

Toronto radio entrepreneur Jack Kent Cooke revitalized the struggling AAA Maple Leafs franchise in the early 50s.

Phil didn’t sign his first pro contract until he was 26.
He also turned the Yankees’ offer down.
He won 68 games for a 2nd division team despite missing 3 yrs due to WW2.
Just imagine if he had signed with NY at an earlier age.
