Wife, picking apart some fresh herbs in the kitchen: “I had to get some more because we were out of thyme.”

Me, making my own useful contribution to the family: “Did somebody say ‘OUTATIME’!?!” 🕶️ followed by about 10 minutes of thyme puns.

My biggest regret in life is not realizing sooner that you can put honey on pretty much all the foods and it makes them better.

I asked Siri if there was a US Senate election in Indiana in 2026, and she lied to me. Twice. Two lies in three sentences.

CA #Prop50 generally running about +5 compared to Harris 2024 vote... and then there's greater Los Angeles, where over 4 million voters shifted +15. Makes you wonder if there are any local issues that might make LA voters unhappy with the Republican congress? www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Well, I think we've all learned a valuable lesson. And if there's one thing we can count in, it's that the American electorate will remember that it doesn't like fascism for years to come.

Defense is now questioning Lairmore on cross-examination. They show a video still of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground, post-throw.

"Do you recognize that sandwich?" the attorney asks.

Lairmore won't confirm.

"I did not go back to collect it," he says.

The defense team presses Lairmore on whether the sandwich really 'exploded.' They return to the photo of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground.

"That sandwich hasn't exploded at all, has it?" defense asks.

"It looks like a little bit is coming out towards the bottom," Lairmore replies.

I feel one million years old here, but we do actually have a pretty reliable way of knowing what news is true. Did a real newspaper publish it? Then probably yes. Can’t find it in a real newspaper? Maybe not.
A large majority of U.S. adults now get news digitally, but nondigital news consumers are less likely to say they extremely often or often encounter inaccurate news.

Read more on Americans’ views of information accuracy and distinguishing truth from fiction:
Many Americans say they often come across inaccurate news – and have a hard time knowing what’s true
Those who report often encountering inaccurate news are more likely than those who rarely or never do to say it’s hard to know what is true (59% vs. 31%).

Yep, showing mercy, sounds great, very Christian.

“But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, ‘And who is my neighbor?’”
Mike Johnson: "Well, the Constitution gives the president the full power of pardon and clemency and commutation. He chose to do that here. Um, you know, I hope George Santos will make the most of this second chance at life. As a Christian, I believe in redemption."

We found immigration agents have held more than 170 *citizens*

The govt doesn't track citizens held. So we did. We tallied:

Nearly 20 kids, two w/ cancer

More than 20 citizens held for day or more, incommunicado

No institutional design can overcome a lawbreaking president, a Congress defending lawbreaking and forfeiting its own power, a Supreme Court that pretends legal text doesn’t count to facilitate lawbreaking, and a citizenry that votes for all that.
Need at least one that wants rule of law. Maybe two.

The entire administration is "new legal analysis."

Is the President a King? Yes, according to new legal analysis. Can we fire civil servants, impound funds and eliminate agencies? *Touches earpiece* Yes, according to new legal analysis.

The shame is that SCOTUS has gone along with much of this.
Johnson: "It's true that in previous shutdowns, many or most furloughed employees have been paid for the time they were furloughed, but there is new legal analysis - I don't know the details, I just saw a headline - but there are some legal analysts saying that might not be appropriate or necessary"
