Can we have an unsubscribe from US politics button?

It’s drowning out discord for the rest of the world and creating isolation from things that matter to us.

I had hoped this would be somewhere fresh to get away from it, but the lack of regionalisation is even more prominent than other platforms

Ask Whitlam how questioning pine gap goes.

You know what is however easily hacked?

Push notifications, which are enabled by default so I bet these bafoons haven’t disabled rich push notifications.

Why do I see this coming to bite consumer privacy in the arse with government required retaining of metadata?

I mean look at the UK losing Apple advanced data protection recently.

Voluntary voting gives you extremes becuase the genuine “silent” citizens are the centrists who feel hopeless to be heard by either side.

In compulsory voting these same people will swing against extreme parties.

A few years ago I knew of one tobacconist that had been in the same shop for 30 years.

There’s now 5 within 3 blocks of my apartment, and I know for a fact they all sell grey imports and vapes.

It’s more secure, but now I’ve got to keep my old iPhone in my fireproof safe and make sure I charge and sync it occasionally because if I lost my phone I lose a lot more.

I guess wait and see if Dutton gets his hands on border force again.
March 26, 2025 at 12:56 PM
I mean, the VLAD laws weren’t all that long ago, and our right to privacy or to have our data protected by corporations has been consistently eroded over the last 20 years under the pretence of the the war on terror and protecting borders.

In the EU or US, there was a button to opt out of having your entire Facebook history absorbed by AI. It may have been hard to find but it was there.

There was no button on that same page in Australia. We don’t have good enough privacy protection in this country.
March 26, 2025 at 12:44 PM
Unfortunately returning to Australia has similar laws.

I recently found a local sports field that’s 1km around the outside. Great for a low impact jog when the bits can’t handle a high impact one anymore!

But my pubs only 50m away so I’ve gotta earn it 😆

Teals need to come out and become a party, we’re sick of all this shit.

It’s the Queensland playbook and it worked there.

It’ll likely win them Queensland, and Queensland wins LNP government.

On the other hand why shouldn’t the weapon makers be legislatively required to fund the memorial to those who their products killed?

All defence contracts should come with a portion going to memorials, however no sponsorship should be shown and the weapons maker gets no input into spending.

Apple News plus is fun like this. Half the articles in News plus they push on me aren’t even on paywalled sites! I can just google the first paragraph and find it for free.

If you go to an arena concert for an international headliner you’re doing anything BUT deprive live nation and Ticketek.
March 21, 2025 at 10:32 PM
Stop supporting American owned festivals. Stop supporting live nation. Protest the New South Wales police extortion squad making them too expensive to run.

I don’t agree with it at all either way, but it’s far more dangerous when fascists get ahold of these systems.
March 20, 2025 at 8:35 PM
The last World Cup was in Qatar who reneged on alcohol exemptions days out and used slaves to build venues.

They’re one of the most morally bankrupt global sporting events, they only care about one thing.

Now go look up that same item on AliExpress to see where the Amazon seller gets it.
March 20, 2025 at 7:00 PM
As Amazon move further into a direct drop ship model, a reminder that aliexpress shipping times are down significantly from a few years ago and half to a quarter of the price for many Amazon products.

Why profit Americans for a Chinese product?

Kit Kats are like the only chocolate left from my childhood that don’t taste plain bad :(. The entire of Cadbury can go in the bin with all the reformulations.

With the brand damage done I still don’t understand how that man is CEO.
