It's day one of the #yyccc budget review. We don't have a finance minister but I thought it was a good day to break out a new pair of shoes anyway - plain might they be.

Sitting in this seat for the first time today brought home the journey of the last four years and the enormity of the responsibility in front of me for the next four. Others have come before and others will come after, but tomorrow we start the next chapter for Ward 4, together.

While everyone is thanking voters and volunteers, I also need to thank my opponents. Jeremy Wong and Sheldon Yakichuk ran fantastic campaigns that kept me motivated. 🙏

I hope they continue working to make their communities better.

Has your councillor candidate helped build the Cadillac of community gardens? 😉🧑‍🌾

Personally I think a DJ Kelly lawn sign looks best next to a @briantyyc.bsky.social sign, but apparently some folks think it works well with others as well. 😃

Whoever you pair yours with, you best get one at www.djkelly.ca/lawnsign before it's too late!

Let's elect candidates who have a history of getting things done for their community. I worked with neighbours to stop a 9-storey tall Enmax transmission line down a quiet neighbourhood street. And we won.

Blanket rezoning is not working. The only thing worse would be to repeal it because the old process was a MASSIVE waste of tax payer dollars. We need to fix it and we need to fix it now. Here is how we do that.

It's always a good day of door knocking in Beddington Heights when it ends at Seniores Pizza.

You deserve better Huntington Hills and Thorncliffe Greenview. Every day I hear story after story like this. The City has fallen behind on maintaining the infrastructure in Ward 4. This is something I commit to monitoring like a hawk as councillor. globalnews.ca/news/1140324...

What a great day at the Calgary Chinatown Street Festival!

Every year I am amazed by the local vendors, dragon and lion dances, the live performances, and seeing Calgary come together. 🐉

As we finished our last community event, I grabbed my first burger of Stampede 2025 and reflected on all the conversations had. I will remember this one more than any prior. An especially big thank you to my The Calgary Party colleagues for coming along on the ride.

The shootings of Minnesota elected officials are disturbing on a level that feels previously unseen in this part of the world. I hope they catch the murderer quickly, he faces justice for his actions, and the family and friends of the victims and others on his list find solace.

Congratulations to Josh Traptow as he leaves Heritage Calgary after 10 years. Under his leadership we have seen unprecedented value be placed on Calgary's heritage though many initiatives. We are all better for his work.
