That guy. Draws these detailed, semi-pornographic comics.
As we’ve made inroads, culture on the whole is collapsing and now we’re stagnating. The culture has become cynical and too small minded for big dreams.

I will say on a positive note that general inroads were made- it wasn’t a total failure. I think the challenges comics are facing apply to the arts as a whole. There’s the infantilizing and fracturing of culture on a whole-but other mediums found respectability-comics never quite got there.

There’s always outliers- every year perfectly respectable comics for adults are published- but it’s not the general thrust of the industry.

I think what you’re talking about is a seismic shift in the general attitude of the industry. There was a time where the battle for respectability was being fought on many fronts, and now the general attitude is resignation.

If we the people collectively woke up and realized we don’t want this shitbag for a President, he could be impeached and removed before he completed his 4 years. Too many people don’t care though.

I think Tuvok was like “Thank fuck!” And Neelix was like “But I kinda liked us being merged together.”

Thank ya’ kindly

You can’t draw a comic like that and not expect a shit ton of backlash, so I hope (I’m fucking rooting for her) to weather that well. Comics is a small club-we’ve all had our emperor’s clothes thoughts- but I try not to begrudge anyone else’s success. That’s one half of the controversy.

I get (and agree with a lot of) the criticism against the comic. I also have enough respect for Graham that I can give it a good faith interpretation- whether I agree with it or not. But I get it, I get it.

I gotta admit, I “liked” the post without reading it-which I sometimes do with artists I like to show support (although I think we all want our posts to be read). It wasn’t until I came across Wimberly’s post that I was like-“Wait, need to go back and actually read the comic!”

My personal theory is that although Tuvix didn’t want to “die” (I don’t think it counts as murder in this case), after complying to Janeway’s orders, he ultimately resigned himself to his fate and realized-to paraphrase Spock- that the needs of the many outweighed the needs of the one.

Who knows? Tuvix had their memories so it could be possible. It raises many questions. (P.S.-I haven’t commented on your work before but I love it-you’re a genius)

They never mention in it, which is my one (major) beef regarding an otherwise excellent episode.

Great episode! What bugs me tho is that when Tuvix is separated again we get 0 comment from Neelix & Tuvok. They’re not confused about where they’re at-so do they share Tuvix memories or what?

Weird! She’s more of an Animorph (boatimorph?)

Yeah, one of my faves is a stand alone Friends of Maxx issue. I love the settings and environments he creates-they’re so immersive, I feel like I’m right there. Usually when artists do environments they use a lot of traditional perspective, but he doesn’t use that at all. Don’t know how he does it.

To be honest, to this day I haven’t read the whole thing, so maybe it’s presumptuous to call it a masterpiece…maybe it doesn’t hold up as a whole…Given the premise, it shouldn’t work at ALL, but everything I’ve read is as good as comics get.

A friend of mine had his fan art published on the back cover of an issue. I just picked up a random issue from the story arc where it jumps into the future and was spellbound all over again.
