Enjoyed attending and speaking at Comhdháil ar an Óige agus an Míchumas: Polasaí, Cleachtas, Cuimsiú agus Pobal na Gaeilge’ at UCD today, where I discussed the theory behind discussing disability in medieval Ireland. Learnt a lot from the other papers, and also got to practice my cúpla focal! GRMA!

Recently found the mythological king Núada featured in the #SUPERHUMAN exhibition at #GalwayCityMuseum. His arm injury and its implications for his right to rule over the Tuatha Dé Danann forms an important case study in my thesis chapter on limb impairments!

Happy St Brigit's Day Everyone!

‘‘Put’, said she, ‘my staff about this sod in front of you.’ That was done. A stream gushed forth from the earth. And she cursed Bacéne and his descendants, and said: ‘Soon your two eyes will burst in your head.’’
