Our Little Free Library has a very dedicated Mormon who places their bible as fast as we remove it. Maybe they think this means that it’s wildly popular!

The men who need this excuse prefer to have their privilege (ie. all jobs reserved for them alone) over having to qualify through effort. So I too walk on eggshells because I’m pretty sure saying what I really think of their attitude would not fly in the workplace.

I care that there is gender equity. A separate Ministry does not guarantee anything. Sometimes separate ministries result in “this isn’t our problem” attitude when, in fact, gender equity issues are systemic. Even if there is a separate Ministry, I would want to see equity as part of every mandate.

Now do Tsawwassen. Exact same citizen sentiments “and I believe everyone else here feels that same way” and asking for a referendum on land use and density. And this is about redevelopment of old strip malls surrounded by parking lots. Major difference? Divided council.

That Jivani interview was jaw dropping. Poilievre wakes up to having lost a massive lead and his own seat. He will try to cling to some of the gains CPC made overall but, unable to change his own deep unpopularity ratings and the rift with progressive conservatives in the provinces, he’ll flounder.
