The maker’s mark.

For posterity’s sake before I close this bag up. The leather is Minerva Box from Badalassi Carlo.

The double shoulder was 1.17 square meters from the tannery. Every hide gets measured by a camera system and marked with the size. Over a certain size and it’s sold as a “jumbo” hide at a higher price.

That’s the trio of stamps that make up my maker’s mark. Location, my mark, and the official Argentium Silver winged unicorn.

Should I be saving up content and spacing it out? Maybe. But this came out so lovely that I’m not waiting.

When people want to know why handmade leather goods are expensive, here’s one of the reasons. Every stitching hole is made by hand with a stitching chisel. That takes time and expertise to do correctly.
