Ach, gestern war einfach ein komplett bekloppter Tag, da war der lang geplante abendliche Umtrunk sehr willkommen. Aber heute fühl ich mich leider mindestens so alt wie ich bin. Denn die Bettflucht nimmt ja auch einfach mal gar keine Rücksicht auf den Restalk.

Das sag ich mir auch immer. Find das auch an sich sehr prima, ist alles noch herrlich ruhig (bis auf die Downtownronnys aus'm Umland) und man kann schön rumdödeln.

Never lose hope. We endured 40 years of dictatorship here and the revolution that came was peaceful.
But it was 40 years, a damn long time. With special “places” for people with dissenting opinions, with severely restricted opportunities for people who didn't belong to “the party”...

I really hope I'm wrong, but the show the GOP is putting on is fascist playbook 101. I wish Americans well, but fear it's going to get much, much uglier before it can get better.

I fully understand that Europe needed a wake-up call to develop its own global political identity. However, for the US to ally itself with what it has for decades correctly recognized for what it is (I was born and raised in the GDR) 2/?

German here. To be honest, I don't believe that this can be repaired in our lifetime. For 80 years, the US has nurtured & promoted transatlantic relations. And are now proving to be totally unreliable. 1/?
