Why do you think, asswipe? And for the love of God, drop the lame question hedlines. Those crusty old slot editors were right when they yelled at us interns, "Question hedlines suck!"

No no no. Yes, 17-year-old girls are pretty, but that doesn't make it OK for old men to rape and traffic them. Does this really need to be spelled out for most men?

Claiming the Jill Stein cost Clinton the election is stupid enough to get her dumped as any kind of political analyst for cause, well before her gross ethical violations.

The kids get it. Nothing like the rush of "red alert" in a newsroom! Greatest. Feeling. Ever.

There is an inventory shortage, wouldn't you agree? In mid-2024 we had 1.4 million homes on the market, vs more than 4 million in 2007.

What is this!? Somehow I missed it. Jeezus.

Absolutely! Look at how the non-voters declined when Mr. Hopey-Changey conned them into hoping. (Also look at the decline for his re-election when he proved to be 100% Republican Lite.)

If the DC press corp was anything but a worthless bunch of access-loving stenographers, they would've shown some backbone and completely boycotted all WH events when AP was banned over the "Gulf of America" nonsense. Not surprised that they don't rise to the moment now.

Because the DC press corps is full of shallow, smug, careerist stenographers who value access above all else.

The downsides to these stories are that these people - awful and otherwise - exist in a bubble (shared by many at The Times) where attention in the NYT equals approval and validates your importance and behavior. Notwithstanding the wasted resources that could've gone to other topics.

As for my newspaper work, years of writing are just gone, not even loaded into commercial databases, such as Nexus.

I have the same problem with my book. With the next one, I'll make Internet Archive pages as backups. (same folks who run Wayback)

That is one helluva bad angle to take in a story. A well-meaning rich guy just trying to help. Yikes!

Age aside, if the girl was trafficked or threatened or bribed, it's still an unconscionable and illegal act.

It could be worse. At least she's not driving the fugly-ass Mach-E.

A reporter from Detroit would include the engine, trim level, color and what day the Flat Rock plant built it. And I doubt she needs more than the eco-boost, which is a pretty good power plant.

Good work, Mom! She will treasure the incredible feeling of knowing she impressed her mother for the rest of her life. There's no telling how great an influence this will be on her character and in her life. You are one of the lucky few parents who are worthy of a true theater kid.
