Here's something to consider when thinking about recent US inflation problems. More than half the spending comes from the Top 10%. In other words, prices stay up because rich people can afford stuff, even if you can't.

News organizations are not, not, NOT getting it. Everywhere the reporting is, "Colombia backs down after Trump threats," which is wrong. If anything, Trump backed down. And no one has noted whether the threatened tariffs would have violated existing trade agreements with Colombia.

The first time around, WaPo did a fine job of tracking all of Trump's lies. (How quaint. Pretty sure that won't happen again.) What we need is for some outlet to track Trump's crimes, probably crimes and conflicts of interest. I'm sure it won't be take more than a few terrabytes.
