I've been having to lie down a lot lately, and I decided to start keeping a sketchpad beside my bed today. This is a character that I've been drawing off and on for the last 20 years or so. His name is Ubhal.
Two illustrations of a child with human facial features and humanoid arms/a torso, but with batlike wings, digitigrade hind limbs, and a reptilian style tail. Brown ink on brown sketch paper. I was busy making protest signs yesterday on Trans Day of Visibility, but I was out and proud at the rally in Lansing on Sunday! Made this sign for it. Was blessed enough to be able to bring my partner and kids.

A friend of mine joked that one of my favorite characters was like an anxious little dog, and I have doubled down.

I legitimately have like 40 chihuahua pictures I want to translate into sketches of my gay occult detective character, Billy Baines. This is hopefully the first of many.
