I’ve been wanting to visit the site for many years. Hopefully, I’ll get there next year. In the meantime, I was honoured to attend the convocation ceremony when Lanier Phillips was awarded his honourary doctorate (I pulled out a lot of stops to be there - it was very important to me).

When the feds sold the ambassador’s residence in County Wicklow, Ireland, it was for short-term monetary gain. Such a loss of valuable real estate abroad. Looks like MUN is also being short-sighted regarding Harlow. Instead of selling off valuable assets, they should try fixing mgmt of those assets.

I was going to volunteer for the games in either Canada or Mexico, but never the u.s. I’ll never step foot in the u.s. again. I will also not watch any of the upcoming matches and, of course, will not volunteer after all. There are better ways to spend my time.

So much for volunteering for the upcoming world cup. I’ll stick with rugby. Keep politics out of sports!

116 acres does not seem large enough for what‘s proposed. 1200 homes + commercial, retail, and trails? Those homes would have to be tiny with no space between them. Sounds crowded and congested to me, not to mention the impact on surrounding roads. Better to keep it as a much-needed green space.

She isn’t endorsing him or jumping on any bandwagon; she’s congratulating him. It’s called being a good sport, just as losing hockey teams congratulate winning hockey teams in the playoffs. Why do united statesians seem to have such difficulty understanding good manners and decency?

Isn’t it up to the District Attorney’s office to determine if a case should be tried or not? The DA must know that no one wants such a frivolous case to be brought to court. If he’s judged by a jury of his peers, he’ll walk, but at what cost to him and u.s. taxpayers?

Thanks. I used to use Memrise for other languages, but found that there were mistakes in the grammar, so I haven’t used it in a while. Glossika is new to me - I’ll check it out. 🙂

I keep trying to reason with them, but you can’t tell a Heinz pickle nuthin’. If you tell them that the sky is blue, they’ll adamantly deny it, swearing that it’s green, usually because their Führer tells them it is. It’s sad.

That land had the opportunity to become another Bowring Park. Instead, it will be “developed” to add to the traffic in the area, prompting the city to put in even more costly and unnecessary “traffic calming“ measures like the overkill they did with Ennis Ave. #OpportunityLost

We definitely do not. I hope that you get your country and respect back, though I suspect that it may take a generation or two and possibly another Depression for the message to hammer home.

Unfortunately, some of it has trickled into Canada, mostly in Alberta, but in pockets throughout the country, sadly. The majority of us are still sane though, and trying very hard to eliminate it or, at worst, keep it at bay.
