NEW: Tipsters tell me Pabst is in trouble, having cut 60-70 employees late last week in the 2nd big round of layoffs this year. “I think the layoffs are two-fold, trying to undercut the bad financial performance but also setting the company up for a buyout,” one recently laid-off employee said.

i get this & there’s merit to it but a) the fact that she even got the VF gig in the first place is a huge indictment of the cliquish ethical bankruptcy of media’s upper echelons, so they don’t get points for CYAing now + b) she prob would’ve kept that gig if she hadn’t doubled down on the grift!
Not to defend Olivia Nuzzi, who broke every rule in journalism and promoted a charlatan to his current position. But it's incredibly telling that she will lose her job, but RFK Jr. gets to stay in his job despite the reports of his drug use, his affairs and his defenestrating of public health.

Dave does a great job distilling and synthesizing the rise and fall of Rogue, and reading it makes me realize how out-of-step brands founded on toxic masculinity (to use a shorthand) have fared. The country is steeped in TM now, and it’s just not into beer brands offering more of the same.
