I just created a quick map depicting which portions of the United States are now (as of today) or will imminently be (by early June) without 24/7 local National Weather Service coverage (per Washington Post reporting). #CAwx #CAfire #CAwater #ORwx #AKwx #WYwx #KSwx

The only snow left in Fargo is the snow in piles, and the snow in the shade.
How much snow is left in your yard?

We have another warm and breezy day through the region, as a few spots will look to get their first 60° day of the spring. Tomorrow looks even windier, and we're keeping an eye on elevated fire conditions for much of the Dakotas as the wind ramps up. #ndwx #mnwx

Light winds have led to patchy fog this morning. With temperatures in the teens and 20s, a few slick spots will be possible with the fog. Today we continue to warm up with cloudy skies, and a few fickle weak waves will bring in spotty shower chances through the start of the week. #ndwx #mnwx

All of these alerts are cold-weather related... talk about an arctic blast!

With the bitter cold this weekend, here's a friendly reminder of how quickly frostbite can occur.

Snow can make a windy day like today so much worse...

Langdon has 8-12" of snow on the ground, and there is a blizzard!

Fergus Falls has little to no snow, and it's just a windy day.
January 17, 2025 at 5:52 PM
A blizzard warning has now been issued for the far north. Visibility is less than a quarter mile and travel is near impossible.

A high wind warning has also been issued. This is for blowing snow and wind gusts near 60 mph.

Enjoy the warm January day today, because it's not going to be here for long.

Travel impacts are likely tomorrow with the strong NW wind bringing in colder air and light snow.
